Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated School Behavioral Technician to help create a positive, inclusive learning environment. In this role, you will work closely with students, teachers, and staff to provide behavioral support and implement intervention strategies for students with behavioral challenges. Your commitment to fostering a safe and respectful atmosphere will play a vital role in the success of our educational community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Behavioral Assessment:
Conduct assessments to identify individual student needs and challenges.
* Develop Behavior Plans:
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and special education professionals to design tailored Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
* Implement Interventions:
Apply evidence-based strategies and interventions consistently to encourage positive behavior.
* Data Collection:
Track and document student progress, analyzing data to measure intervention effectiveness.
* Crisis Management:
Respond to and de-escalate crisis situations safely and effectively.
* Communication:
Maintain clear, ongoing communication with teachers, parents, and stakeholders regarding student progress and concerns.
* Professional Development:
Stay current on best practices in behavior management through continuous learning.
* Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support student success.
* Promote Inclusion:
Encourage diversity, acceptance, and respect within the school community.
Qualifications:
* Required:
* Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification
* Experience working with students with behavioral challenges or special needs
* Knowledge of behavior management techniques and evidence-based interventions
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Preferred:
* Crisis intervention and de-escalation training (e.g., CPI, Safe Crisis Management)
* Personal Attributes:
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to student well-being
Required Clearances:
* PA Child Abuse Clearance (within 1 year)
* FBI Fingerprint Clearance for Pennsylvania (within 1 year)
* PA State Police Background Report (within 1 year)
* TB Test (within 3 months)
* CPR and First Aid Certification
* Act 126 Reporter Training Certificate
