Job Description Schedule
Full-Time: 40 Hours/Weekly, M-F 9AM-6PM
General SummaryFills routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and performs other related duties.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
- Assists pharmacists as directed including filling orders and preparing labels.
- Assists patient, taking prescription, necessary information, etc. Operates cash register. Delivers medications as needed.
- Submits and receives orders from suppliers.
- Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications.
- Assists with I.V. preparation and delivery.
- Position shares responsibility with other team members for daily delivery of patient medications to a Script Center in Mt. Gretna, PA. (Applies only to staff working at Good Samaritan Pharmacy location only; Department 43514).
- If hired as a Registered Pharmacy Technician Trainee, must acquire the Registered Pharmacy Technician prior to expiration of the Trainee registration.
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Logs all drugs delivered to pharmacy.
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- No experience. Required
- Previous customer service experience. Preferred
- Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required or
- Registered Pharmacy Technician Trainee Upon Hire Required
