Position’s

Scope:

The Lead Program Technician is responsible for monitoring Alpine Springs clients and ensuring that both clients and staff adhere to Alpine Springs policies and procedures, as well as applicable PA Department of Health, Department of Drug and Alcohol (DDAP), and CARF standards. The Lead Program Technician serves as a role model for Program Technicians and assists with the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and daily operations of the Program Technician department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (May vary by shift and AS facility location):
  • Help clients achieve treatment goals and objectives by coaching and guiding clients in resolving simple problems and acquiring skills for living a sober lifestyle.
  • Monitor clients for compliance with Alpine Springs expectations, rules, and regulations.
  • Monitor clients to ensure their safety and well-being through regular rounds and roll calls.
  • Monitor client attendance and behavior at internal/ external groups and activities including: 12-step meetings, educational sessions and meals.
  • Supervises clients doing their assigned chores.
  • Completes client intake/admissions paperwork.
  • Completes client withdrawal management bio.
  • Makes bed availability phone calls to other treatment facilities (transferring from withdrawal management).
  • Conduct group activities for clients (e.g. movies, mock 12 step groups).
  • Transport clients to and from appointments and outside 12-step meetings and activities.
  • Documents facility issues and client activities to ensure the ongoing maintenance of Best Notes/EMR records and reports.
  • Assists with or conducts client body and belonging searches.
  • Obtain urine drug screens from clients at admission, D/C, or when directed by On-Call Supervisor.
  • Report all incidents including potential incidents of abuse or neglect immediately to direct supervisor and complete an Incident Report.
  • Observe, respond to and report potential hazards which may result in an accident or injury to the client, staff, or others.
  • Demonstrate job specific knowledge of fire and disaster preparedness during drills or actual situations. Protect client rights and apply principles of client privacy and confidentiality to all practices (HIPPA, PHI).
  • Meet and maintain all standards in the facility (PA Health Department, Alpine Springs, DDAP and CARF standards).
  • Monitor and maintain programming schedules.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for clients.
  • Respond appropriately to client needs, concerns, and behavioral issues while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Complete and maintain accurate and timely documentation regarding client activities, incidents, observations, and interventions.
  • Maintain confidentially and protect client privacy in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organization policies.
