Responsibilities

A Chaplain in the Department of Chaplaincy Services provides spiritual care and support to staff, patients, and their families according to established policy and protocol.
A Chaplain works in concert with other clinical staff to assess the spiritual, religious and cultural needs of patients and their families and plan and provide care respectful of religious and cultural diversity.
A Chaplain involves and coordinates care with the patient or family's religious leader when permission to do so is given.
Chaplains work to interpret and fulfill the Hospital's mission to provide compassionate, high-quality care.
Chaplains must complete one unit of CPE.
