Job Description : GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of a level II or higher medical physicist, this job is responsible for all clinical aspects of medical physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Audits and reviews patient medical charts. 30%
Performs quality assurance/control evaluations on radiation producing machines. 20%
Assists with special clinical research and development projects as assigned. 20%
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards. 10%
Advises and provides guidance to dosimetry and therapy staff and provides consultation services to attending physicians. 10%
Assists with the delivery of patient care for special procedures. 10%
Other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Master's Degree in Physics or related field from a CAMPEP-accredited program

Completion of a CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics Residency program or A  structured mentorship.

Preferred1 to 3 publications in medical physicsSKILLSCritical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work independently in a challenging environment and take appropriate action.
