Responsibilities
  • Responsible for performing the daily operations of the laundry facilities, including loading, washing and storing of laundry items, hallways and service areas.
  • Responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer.
  • Operates commercial washers, dryers, flatwork ironers, sorts, feeds and pulls linens. Catches, folds, stacks and bundles with or without tying machines. Sorts and loads towels, sheets and various other linens and terry items onto linen cart.
  • Stacks linens onto shelves.
  • Maintains inventory control, item count and associated record‑keeping.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months previous cleaning experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, flatwork ironer and towel‑folding machine.
  • Ability to inspect laundry items, maintain inventory control and perform all associated record‑keeping.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around laundry area.
  • Requires the ability to twist and lift up to 50 pounds, and push/pull loads of up to 100 pounds, so as to be able to load, wash and store laundry items.
  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented.
  • Must be physically strong, honest, self‑motivated, dependable, and able to work alone, willing to learn, eagerly follows directions, and always clean and neat in appearance.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to hotel guests, announcing arrival at door, and comprehending special requests from guests.
  • Ability to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
  • Must be able to use the equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, vacuum, cleaning supplies and safety equipment.
  • Ability to clean as directed at an acceptable performance rate.
  • Ability to minimally communicate and understand, in English, matters of mutual concern, such as directions, hazards or questions; if unable to speak or understand English, prior experience as a guest room attendant required.
