Responsibilities- Design and develop a multi-layered evaluation framework for reasoning in Argumentative AI
- Build interactive interfaces for annotation, model evaluation, and expert feedback
- Conduct user studies to assess usability and reasoning quality of LLM-generated output
- Collaborate with domain experts to align evaluation methods with philosophical concepts
- Contribute to NLP/AI and interdisciplinary publications as well as the development of evaluation standards in AI reasoning
- The position is linked to a doctorate in this subject area.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated interest or experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Argumentative AI
- Familiarity with Natural Language Inference (NLI), corpus creation, and evaluation methodologies is a strong plus
- Interest or experience in human–AI interaction, argumentation theory, or AI ethics is a plus
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Experience in web/frontend development (e.g., React, Vue, or similar frameworks) is an advantage
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
- Diligent, responsible, structured, goal-oriented, and independent working style
- Very good command of spoken and written English
Our research at the Chair of Data Science and Natural Language Processing at the Institute of Computer Science (ICS‑HSG) focuses on large language models (LLMs) and quantitative data science. You will play a key role in designing and building frameworks that will help us understand and improve how AI systems reason.
