Business Objects Consultant

Are you an experienced Business Objects Consultant with strong hands‑on expertise across reporting, universes, and SQL?

Do you enjoy supporting a wide range of users, from beginners to advanced developers, while also managing technical development work?

We are supporting a leading international financial institution in Basel that is looking for a Business Objects Consultant to provide end‑to‑end reporting and universe support within their analytics environment.

In this role, you will work across a mature and highly used Business Objects landscape, supporting more than 1,200 reports and around 50 universes. You will assist business users, analyse requirements, resolve issues, and develop or enhance reports and universes after the organisation’s migration to BO 4.3.

• Creating and modifying Business Objects reports
• Creating, updating, and troubleshooting universes
• Analysing reporting requirements and translating them into BO solutions
• Supporting users at all levels of technical ability
• Providing guidance on how to open, create, and schedule reports
• Collaborating with the BO, Tableau, and Big Data teams
• Occasionally supporting system changes or testing during weekends or public holidays

• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on Business Objects experience
• Strong knowledge of BO 4.3 (4.1/4.2 may be considered)
• Experience with report and universe creation and modification
• Strong SQL expertise
• Ability to support non‑technical business users
• Excellent communication skills and clear English
• Ability to work autonomously and handle a wide range of user requests

• Knowledge of BI2025
• Experience with Infoburst or 360suite
