About EF
At EF, we’re in a different kind of business. One that’s a little less tangible, and a lot more important. Because our business, what we make, makes everything else possible. We’re in the Business of Understanding. Between people. Between cultures.
For over half a century we’ve been the leader in international educational programs and experiences designed to foster such understanding. Through Language, Cultural Exchange, Academic Studies, and Educational Travel, we create immersive experiences that challenge biases, open minds, and pave the way for a more understanding world.
The Role- The Head of Oracle Operations & Governance provides cross-functional operational ownership and platform governance for EF’s Oracle Fusion Cloud landscape across ERP, HCM, and the EPM Platform.
- This role works in close partnership with Global Solution Owners for Finance, Procurement, HCM, and EPM, ensuring that Oracle Fusion operates as a cohesive, stable, and well-governed enterprise platform rather than a collection of functionally optimized silos.
- The role focuses on how the platform runs and evolves end-to-end, balancing operational stability, governance, and continuous improvement, while respecting functional ownership.
- This is a senior, hands‑on role for someone who thrives in complex, global enterprise environments, is comfortable influencing without formal authority, and can operate as both player and coach.
- Own the end-to-end operational health of the Oracle Fusion Cloud platform across Finance, Procurement, HCM, and EPM.
- Ensure stable and predictable operations, including:
- Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles
- ESS jobs, background processing, and integrations
- Data quality, reconciliation, and cross-module consistency
- Act as the central operational escalation point for cross-functional Oracle Fusion issues.
- Define and enforce platform-wide governance standards, in alignment with Global Solution Owners.
- Act as design authority for cross-functional and technical decisions, including:
- Security and access models
- Integration and extensibility patterns
- Environment, release, and change strategies
- Ensure consistency and reuse across modules, while respecting functional ownership and regulatory needs.
- Govern cross-functional changes to ensure:
- Alignment across Finance, HR, Procurement, and EPM
- Minimal operational and close-cycle risk
- Compliance with agreed platform standards
- Support Global Solution Owners in reviewing and shaping changes with cross-module or operational impact.
- Own platform-wide security and access governance, including:
- Job roles, duty roles, data roles
- Segment Value Security (SVS) and Legal Entity policies
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal control requirements.
- Maintain clear and current documentation of governance, controls, and operational standards.
- Work closely with system integrators and managed service providers to ensure:
- Consistent application of EF platform standards
- High-quality operational support
- Sustainable resolution of recurring and systemic issues
- Monitor operational performance and drive root‑cause-based improvements, not just incident resolution.
- Identify cross-functional optimization opportunities across Oracle Fusion.
- Reduce operational friction caused by fragmented or function-specific designs.
- Improve end-user experience through simplification, standardization, and automation.
- Act as a trusted partner to Global Solution Owners and senior leaders across Finance, HR, Procurement, and IT.
- Provide clear visibility into platform health, risks, and cross-functional dependencies.
- Facilitate decision-making on trade-offs between speed, risk, standardization, and functional needs.
- 8–12+ years of Oracle ERP experience, including Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- Procurement and Expenses.
- HCM and/or EPM.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Oracle Fusion security architecture
- ESS framework and scheduled processes
- Cross-module integration…
