Position Overview
Our Government Client seeks a qualified Insurance Consultant to advise their Broadband Office on the sufficiency of insurance certificates submitted under Broadband subgrant agreements. This individual will serve as an expert resource to both agency staff and legal counsel, helping interpret and enforce complex insurance provisions to ensure adequate risk protection for the State.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess insurance certificates submitted by broadband subgrantees and contractors.
- Determine compliance with federal and state insurance standards, including 2 CFR 200.310.
- Advise staff and legal counsel on adequacy, risk mitigation, and policy interpretation.
- Respond to questions from both grantees and IBO related to insurance provisions.
- Assist with process improvements to support consistent and compliant insurance review.
- Attend occasional onsite meetings as requested.
Desired Qualifications
- Background in broadband deployment, construction, or infrastructure projects.
- Deep knowledge of commercial insurance, risk transfer, and liability protection.
- Prior experience serving as an insurance advisor or risk consultant, preferably for public-sector clients.
- Ability to ensure risk mitigation strategies are in place to protect the State as the principal.
Engagement Terms
- Onsite requirement: 1 day of in-person training in Indianapolis; additional meetings as needed.
- Primarily remote role, with flexible hours to accommodate consultant’s schedule.
- One round of in-person interviews required.
Conflict of Interest Note
- Candidates must not be currently working on other BEAD-related (Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment) projects to be considered for this position.
