The Ignite Internship Program is an 11-week, full-time experience that offers a sneak peek into the world of insurance. Level up your skills and knowledge by diving into your business area of choice.

As a MUSIC Intern, you’ll have an opportunity to learn all about Mesa Underwriters Specialty Insurance Company (MUSIC), a trusted Selective Insurance Excess & Surplus affiliate. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to a dynamic and specialized area of the insurance industry, where you will play an active role in supporting business initiatives while building valuable industry knowledge, professional connections, and practical experience.

Please note, this is a hybrid position, therefore, applicants must be within commuting distance of our location in Dresher, PA or Scottsdale, AZ.

• Contribute to meaningful business projects that support MUSIC’s growth, profitability, and operational goals.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to solve real business challenges and contribute fresh ideas that can make a difference, like AI integration and process improvement.
• Gain firsthand exposure to the foundations of underwriting while gaining a deeper understanding of an insurance carrier’s business operations.

• Must be a current college student to qualify.
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry, specifically within excess and surplus.
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate professionally and work part of a team.
• College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.

• High School Diploma required. Ideal internship candidates will be full‑time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level. Preference for Risk Management majors;
  Finance or equivalent majors accepted as well.
