Required:
Drug Court Training, 20 hours annually of job specific continuing education approved by the problem‑solving court judge, 40 hours Pre‑Basic Law Class
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of Drug Court Operations, Knowledge of Court Operations, Proven skills as a law enforcement officer Field officer, document participants’ compliance w/ rules, Capability to be a Special Deputy of Hancock Co. Sheriff’s Dept
DUTIES- Conduct visits to participants home and work locations to ensure that a Drug Court (DC) participant is operating in a drug‑free environment.
- Document compliance or non‑compliance of the participant with DC Rules and record in SRS database.
- Administer portable breath tests and urine drug screens of male participants and record in SRS database.
- Report to the DC Coordinator and Judge on the performance of participants.
- Document case notes of each participant and documents in SRS database.
- Conduct IRAS assessments when needed.
- Transport participants from the jail to recovery houses when necessary.
Equipment: Furnished by Hancock County Drug Court
Reporting: Reports directly to the Hancock Circuit Judge. Reports to the Coordinator of the Hancock County Drug Court
