Job Purpose
The Strategic Supply Chain Analyst will support Matric by understanding customer needs and their respective job duties. The role performs a variety of administrative, research and sourcing duties to procure raw materials, supplies, capital equipment and contract services for the Matric Group. The Analyst must have strong attention to detail and experience in an administrative, purchasing or office management role. They must protect confidential information and maintain the integrity of the company.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- All associates have a personal responsibility and accountability to ensure their day-to-day activities adhere to Matric's quality and environmental policies.
- Identify, manage, and implement sustainable process improvement activities, leveraging data analytics that accomplish business imperatives.
- Analyze, recommend, and execute organizational improvements by identifying process improvements and making recommendations to the management team around forecasting, inventory, capacity, labor and/or suppliers.
- Prepare, analyze, and manage the financial and business information needed to make sound decisions, drive process improvements, and orchestrate activities to resolve supply chain constraints. Proactively identify potential disruptions to the supply chain.
- Support local supply chain initiatives by providing ad‑hoc analyses and support capacity planning for new product development.
- Demonstrate overall knowledge of Syteline ERP end‑to‑end supply chain, applying knowledge to achieve organizational impact.
- Cultivate and leverage relationships across multiple disciplines to resolve supply chain issues.
- Continuously look for ways to benchmark and improve processes through analysis of methods and models. Analyze requirements to troubleshoot problems and answer questions, generate new ideas and willingly support change initiatives.
- Understand supply chain or customer service functions throughout different departments. Utilize this knowledge to collaborate cross‑functionally, resulting in decisions that benefit the greater supply chain or customer service.
- Work with inventory management to ensure all deliveries satisfy assigned purchase orders. Prepare and place purchase orders for standard and non‑standard materials, products, and services.
- Maintain proper supply inventory by checking stock, placing orders for supplies, materials, and equipment as authorized.
- Assist in the procurement of requisitioned items in accordance with purchasing policy.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with assigned suppliers covering delivery method, delivery date, price, discount, freight payment, warranty periods, etc.
- Assist with data entry and maintenance of ERP system data including vendor master, item master, item/vendor cross‑reference files and lead times.
- Control, monitor and analyze supplier quality and on‑time delivery in accordance with policy and goals.
- Initiate periodic reviews with suppliers to explore supply‑chain and inventory management concepts that may be applicable to assisting the company with organizational goals.
- Maintain an awareness of economic and business situations as they affect purchasing activities and policies and adapt as necessary to changing conditions.
- Commit to excellence, service, and a willingness to assist others as needed. Understand and teach supply chain concepts across multiple disciplines.
- Develop and maintain key supplier relationships. Communicate with current and prospective suppliers to meet the requirements of our organizational goals and customers.
- Resolve routine supply‑chain issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, inventory management, business or a related field, or equivalent experience; 5‑10 years of hands‑on buying or inventory management experience.
- 3+ years of experience in previous supply chain/customer service positions.
- Experience with project management methodology, process improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma), or statistics.
- Exceptional customer service and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
