Director of Safety

Requires a comprehensive understanding of DOT regulations, warehouse safety standards, and risk management. The role involves developing and implementing safety programs, ensuring compliance, and overseeing safety training, accident investigations and documentation. Responsibilities also include managing workers’ compensation claims, maintaining safety records, and ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or 5 years’ experience in safety related field.
• Experience in safety management, particularly in DOT and warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, risk management, communication and training skills.

• Compliance
  :
  Ensure compliance with DOT regulations (FMCSA, OSHA, hazmat) and warehouse safety standards.
• Program Development
  :
  Develop, implement and maintain safety programs for both DOT and warehouse operations.
• Training
  :
  Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees, including DOT-specific training for drivers.
• Lead and document investigations of accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and developing corrective actions.
• Documentation
  :
  Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training and incidents.
• Claims Management
  :
  Manage workers’ compensation claims and ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
• Communication
  :
  Communicate safety information to employees, supervisors and other stakeholders.
• Work with management, supervisors and other departments to ensure a safe work environment.
