Assistant Poker Manager at Hollywood Casino Morgantown
Location:
Morgantown, PA. Salary: $58,000 per year.
- Oversee the poker room area and any assigned table games activities.
- Ensure gaming activity within the assigned area is conducted at the highest level of integrity and professionalism, and that internal and external policies and procedures are complied with.
- Supervise and manage staff in the Poker area.
- Develop, implement, and manage operational goals while monitoring performance and profit objectives.
- Create effective and efficient schedules, maintain labor costs, meet staffing objectives and achieve guest satisfaction.
- Assist in the budget process for the department, provide recommendations and ensure compliance with departmental budget initiatives.
- Support, promote, and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
- Ensure customer service standards are followed by all team members and address issues as they arise.
- Achieve department customer service goals.
- Manage accountability of chips, cards, and all other gaming equipment.
- Answer inquiries about Poker policies and services, resolve guests complaints while supporting all customer service programs.
- Direct and manage Poker tournaments, ensuring all established rules/regulations are followed.
- Work with Marketing to create Poker Room promotions and tournaments to build customer loyalty.
- Implement and oversee overall strategies for customer service, comping, games layout and mix, revenue growth, and expense management to maximize profitability.
- Make final decisions on implementation and oversight of overall engagement, customer service, comp ability, games layout and mix, revenue growth, and expense management.
- Address and manage team member feedback, suggestions, complaints, and grievances.
- Protect and preserve company assets.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements within area of responsibility and report potential issues to Executive Management / GM.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
- Maintain complimentary privileges in accordance with the approved Comp Matrix.
- Serve in the capacity as a Casino Operations Shift Manager in their absence.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four‑year college or university OR a minimum of five years’ experience in a comparable Poker Operations leadership position OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word) and knowledgeable of Poker operating systems.
- Ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Extensive knowledge of all Poker Operations.
- Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
- Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, percent; interpret bar graphs.
- Responsible for staff development and training programs.
- Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
- Evaluate team members and deliver constructive feedback on performance.
- Determine staffing recommendations (including interviewing, hiring) and scheduling to meet business needs.
- Determine work procedures and expedite workflow.
- Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).
- Read and interpret documents in English (safety rules, operating instructions, manuals). Communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Meet any Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board credentialing requirements.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds; push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, balance as required in various work areas such as confined spaces.
