Senior Manager, Audit Services -Investments

Vanguard's Internal Audit & SOX department is hiring a Senior Manager in Audit Services for the Global Investment and Financial Audit Services (GIFAS) team! This is a high-impact, people leader role responsible for leading a team of internal auditors in delivering risk-based audits and consulting engagements across portfolio management, trading, and enterprise risk management functions. As a trusted advisor, you'll influence senior leadership and help strengthen Vanguard's global control environment.

• Hire, evaluate, and supervise audit team members, providing mentorship, training, and performance feedback. Set performance standards and make compensation decisions.
• Plan, direct, and oversee audit activities for the Investments division, including risk assessments and audit planning.
• Lead multiple audit and consulting engagements to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, beneficial work. Provide subject matter expertise and industry insights.
• Define and communicate engagement objectives to audit teams and business partners. Assess risk, analyze data, and evaluate internal controls.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and risk partners across the Investment Lifecycle.
• Communicate audit status and results to senior management, influencing them to act on recommendations and improve the control environment.
• Set clear expectations for the team and provide coaching to support professional development. Leverage team strengths to ensure collaboration and timely execution.
• Participate in special projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Undergraduate degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience. Professional certification (e.g., CIA, CFA, CPA) or advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
• Minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
• Significant management experience in audit, risk, or internal controls, with deep expertise in risk management, financial services, and corporate finance.
• Proven leadership skills, including hiring, talent development, coaching, and performance management.
• Ability to thrive in a complex, dynamic, and fast-paced environment with strong project execution capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute beyond direct responsibilities.
• Excellent relationship-building skills and a client-focused approach, with experience presenting findings to senior leadership.
• Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to influence and lead change.
