With a competitive pay ranging from $25.00 to $29.00 per hour, you’ll feel valued for your contributions and commitment.

Your day as a Crew Chief

As a Crew Chief at the Community Action Committee of Lehigh Valley, you'll take the lead in implementing energy efficiency improvements in residences, all while helping families save on energy costs and enjoy greater comfort. In this dynamic role, you'll supervise a dedicated team of Retrofit Technicians, ensuring that every weatherization task adheres to the highest quality and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include managing site activities, conducting thorough pre- and post-work inspections, and maintaining clear communication with both clients and team members.

You’ll have the chance to organize and stock work trucks, conduct regular safety meetings, and maintain precise records of all work performed. Additionally, as a mentor, you’ll provide on-the-job training, empowering your team to grow professionally. Your contribution will not only enhance household sustainability but also play a vital part in fostering community well-being.

To thrive as a Crew Chief with the Community Action Committee of Lehigh Valley, you’ll need a robust blend of skills and experience. A high school diploma is preferred, but if you bring relevant experience from the construction, weatherization, or energy efficiency fields, we want to hear from you! Your two to three years of industry experience should be complemented by strong problem-solving skills and the creativity to handle challenges.

You’ll excel if you can work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. An eye for detail is crucial, as you’ll need to interpret technical documents and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Leadership and time management skills will help you oversee your crew effectively, while excellent communication abilities will aid in building rapport with diverse client households.

A commitment to quality work and a proactive attitude towards safety are essential for ensuring that every project meets high standards.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

Required Education & Experience
  • High school diploma preferred; however, we welcome candidates with relevant work experience or other alternative learning pathways i.e. GED equivalence.
  • Two to three years in the construction weatherization or energy efficiency industries required.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and understanding the unique needs of different cultural backgrounds or households.
