Salary Range: $55,000.00 To $60,000.00 Annually

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly qualified Director of Recreation to oversee the development and implementation of recreational programs and activities for our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of professionals and ensuring that all programs are in compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Director of Recreation will play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for our community members through the provision of engaging and inclusive recreational opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within the recreation industry.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage a team of professionals and work collaboratively with other departments and community organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or a related field.
• Certification as a Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) or Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE).
• Experience working in a public administration setting.
• Experience developing and implementing inclusive recreational programs and activities.
• Experience managing budgets and allocating resources.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive recreational program that meets the needs and interests of our community members.
• Manage a team of recreation professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Ensure that all recreational programs and activities are in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to promote and enhance recreational opportunities.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of recreational programs and activities, making adjustments as needed to ensure maximum impact.

Skills:

The Director of Recreation will utilize their strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage a team of professionals and develop and implement engaging and inclusive recreational programs and activities. They will also use their knowledge of industry standards and regulations to ensure that all programs are in compliance. Additionally, the successful candidate will collaborate with other departments and community organizations to promote and enhance recreational opportunities, and evaluate the effectiveness of programs to make adjustments as needed.
