Location: Wellsville

Join Pennex as a Bander Operator in our Wellsville, PA location. The role involves fastening plastic or metal bands around stacks, bundles, or palletized articles before shipment.

Responsibilities
  • Count number of articles to be banded to verify the number specified on the work order.
  • Unwind plastic or metal banding material, wrap the band around a stack or bundle, insert the loose end into a strapping tool, and cinch and crimp the banding material to secure articles during storage or shipment.
  • Count and record the number of banded bundles.
  • Operate hydraulic jack lift or truck to move articles before or after bundling.
  • Cut lumber or other reinforcing material, include it in the bundle, or nail lumber together to protect articles during storage or shipment.
  • Stack bundled articles on pallet by hand.
  • Bands articles to pallet to secure articles for moving.
  • Mark or stencil the size of article, customer’s name, order number, address, or other identifying data on the visible portion of the bundle or shipping ticket.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, including general housekeeping of the work area upon completion of a repair.
  • Assist with general housekeeping of the shipping area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Preferred Experience: Machine or scale operation experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures or rulers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects, and prioritize them appropriately.
  • Must be able to pass pre‑employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsor ships are not available.
  • Regular attendance is required.
Physical Hazards
  • The employee is regularly required to stand.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
  • The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. The range is USD $19.49/Hr. to USD $23.04/Hr.
