DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Install, repair, and maintain all electrical components of production equipment at the direction of E&I or Maintenance Manager. Troubleshoot any issues relating to faulty components or power connection issues to quickly determine proper course of action while always following all lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures. Provide support on larger equipment installation projects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance (PM) on all electrical components of plant production equipment such as conveyors, controls panels, communication devices, HMIs, I/O, and VFDs.
- Troubleshoot control systems, including Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and PC controllers, Allen Bradley Controllogix, Compactlogix, Micrologix PLC, and other industrial control platforms utilizing RSLogix 5000 and 500, or other software packages.
- Troubleshoot industrial networks such as Ethernet, Control Net, Device Net, Profibus, AS-I, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
- Follow LOTO procedures at all times while completing any work involving plant equipment and ensure other Sugarcreek employees and third parties involved are also adhering to LOTO rules and guidelines.
- Document completed work orders using maintenance work order system.
- Complete daily reports outlining maintenance or repairs conducted over the course of the shift.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures from electrical, controls and instrumentation-related issues.
- Perform continued education and training in related multi‑craft skills.
- Complete ongoing training and continuing education related to safety rules and regulations to stay up to date on industry developments and safety trends.
- Work with other departments on larger installation projects, providing electrical support and other assistance as needed.
- Document physical wiring changes as part of a change management process.
- Maintain positive working relationship with all departments and sustain constant communication with Plant Management regarding any maintenance issues that may arise.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies.
- Follow Sugar Creek safety rules and procedures.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
No unusual physical requirements. Physical requirements are consistent with electrical maintenance positions, including mostly sitting with some standing/walking required. Other light physical activity like using stairs or occasionally moving items weighing less than 50lbs may be required as needed. Some travel may be required in between plants.
WORK ENVIRONMENTSome travel to other locations is required.
Most work is performed in an indoor, manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, coats and other necessary equipment. Some work is performed outside of the manufacturing facility.
