Summary
The primary function of the Slitting Line Operator is to operate the required equipment necessary for the finished product slitting specifications and quality requirements. This position also functions as the data entry clerk to properly label, tag, and identify all slit material and is responsible for the overall quality of the slit product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform all duties to the safety standards established as they relate to the position.
- Set up, adjust, and operate slitter equipment in a manner that minimizes waste material.
- Operate material handling equipment to place and transport coils to and from the slitter.
- Meet change‑over and production standards and schedules.
- Understand the meaning of a quality product and identify solvent pops, roll lines, starve outs, etc.
- Work according to finished slitting specifications and product quality requirements.
- Accurately complete required production reports.
- Collaborate closely with other slitter team members to complete all work orders.
- Review scheduled orders with the supervisor to determine production priorities.
- Keep working areas clean and orderly at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma
Language SkillsProficient in reading and writing.
Mathematical Skills- Basic math and ability to use a calculator.
- Must pass basic math test provided by the company.
- Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
- Manufacturing plant environment with dirt, dust, and temperature fluctuations based on seasonal conditions with minimal fans and heaters.
- Large machinery with moving parts as well as forklift traffic and material storage.
- Breaks are unscheduled and machinery must be attended at all times.
- Full‑time
- 24/7 operation
- Premium rate for Saturdays and Sundays
- Shift differential when applicable
