Job Title: CNC Machinist
Location: Landisville, PA
Type: Direct Hire
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours:
- 1st shift (1 opening): 6:30am-3pm Mon-Fri
- 2nd shift (2 openings): 3pm-1:30am Mon-Thur
- 3rd shift (1 opening): 8pm-6:30am Mon-Thur
- Weekend (3 openings): 6:30am-7pm Fri-Sun
Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position: The Machinist is responsible for machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting to ensure all parts meet required specifications and tolerances. This role performs advanced machining functions, leads process improvements, and mentors lower-level machinists and operators. The Machinist collaborates closely with Quality and Engineering teams to drive efficiency, precision, and continuous improvement in all manufacturing processes.
Major ResponsibilitiesPrimary Operations
Set up and troubleshoot a variety of precision machining processes, including:
- Cylindrical Grinding
- Wire EDM (WEDM)
- Surface Grinding
- Core Drill
- CNC Slice
- SPLAP
- Centerless Grind
- MWS
- Perform advanced machine setup and process troubleshooting to achieve and maintain tolerances below .0005
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to identify and resolve mechanical, process, and quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analyses and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
- Document and refine setup procedures and standard work instructions for improved efficiency.
- Train and mentor Machinist I and Operator-level employees, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
- Assist with machine repair and preventive maintenance activities.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and production standards.
- Execute autonomous maintenance schedules and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of machining experience (Machinist I) or 2+ years for advanced level (Machinist II).
- Expert knowledge of precision machining with proven ability to hold tolerances below .0005
- Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T.
