Join Our Team as a CNC Machinist at Epiroc!

Position Objective: Operates special-purpose equipment, conventional (lathe/mill), and/or numerical control (NC) machines for fabricating metallic and nonmetallic parts that meet the high‑quality machine standards required within the organization. This is for our 3rd shift position. It is a 4/10‑hour position, working sun night to Thursday morning.

Essential Functions:
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to find dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Operate CNC mill, CNC lathe, manual mill, and drill press.
  • Set up machinery and ensure all production materials are available.
  • Operate Fork Lift.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining and adjusts machine control as required.
  • Must be able to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Must demonstrate a basic to intermediate skill level (indicate part, turn OD's, and qualify  OD).
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, CMM, etc.
  • Document quality inspections as directed by SOP.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area.
  • Assist SHEQ in promoting and monitoring Safety First initiatives and goals as stated in the MR Operational Policy throughout the organization.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, and stand for extended periods.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Knowledge /

Educational Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • An Associate of Arts or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school in the machinist trade is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills.
Experience Requirements:
  • 2‑4 years of experience working with CNC machines.
Competency Requirements:
  • Ability to operate equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Ability to follow instructions, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to work well with others and as part of a team.
