MIC - Cut Off Operator

Description

The Cut Off Operator is responsible for separating cast components from their gating systems using precision cutting equipment. This role ensures that parts are removed cleanly and safely, maintaining dimensional integrity and preparing them for subsequent finishing operations.

This position reports directly to the Finishing Supervisor

This position will not have any direct reports

• Operate saws, abrasive wheels, or other cutting equipment to remove gates, risers, and sprues from castings.
• Ensure accurate cuts to prevent damage to parts and maintain dimensional tolerances.
• Inspect cut surfaces for defects or irregularities.
• Ensure proper execution of policies and procedures within areas of responsibility.
• Must have good attendance and be reliable.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and senior managers, as well as employees.
• Ability to operate a computer and secure information from established data processing, spreadsheet, word processing, database and graphics programmes.
• Ability to express ideas and communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
• Understanding of applicable plant equipment and production process.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
