Mushroom Grower - Night Shift
Giorgi Mushroom has the following opportunity available at our Blandon location for a Mushroom Grower - night shift. The ideal candidate has the responsibility of providing the optimal conditions necessary for the cultivation of healthy mushrooms in the different phases of the mushroom growth process. The "Night grower" position is an hourly position working around 58 hours weekly. Each work week includes 2 days off.
Work hours normally start at 5:00 p.m. Finish time 5:00 a.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Record activity and development of mushrooms to detect any diseases and other problems that may arise during the process.
- Monitor control of temperature and carbon dioxide levels in growing rooms.
- Ensure that the growing operation complies with the Food Standards for Growing Fresh Mushrooms.
- Develop and maintain a consistent safety environment as you strive to meet OSHA standards.
- Keep accurate records of production output.
Education/
Experience:
- High school or equivalent
- 1 year of experience working in horticulture or a related field, such as plant and vegetable cultivation
- Must be a team player. Training will be provided.
Availability to work 5 or 6 days per week from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am EOE/Drug Free Workplace
