Role PurposeGod has placed us in our work with a purpose. Through HTB’s Work Placed, we are on a journey to explore how to live out and fulfil God's purpose in our daily work, which we believe will help transform society.
The Relationship Manager, Work Placed is available part‑time at either 3 or 4 days per week.
Role OverviewThis role is pivotal to this mission and is to assist with the management, administration, and delivery of HTB Work Placed mission, which includes planning the nature of each event, liaising with the team and sector leads, ensuring the successful delivery of events, and subsequent follow‑up with any post‑event communication, including collation and analysis of feedback to ensure a continual cycle of learning, development, and improvement.
They will need to build effective relationships across the different HTB congregations, identify and work with representatives from each sector; and have a passion for work and are inspired to see the workplace transformed.
- Working with the Director of Work Placed and sector leads, facilitate an inspiring schedule of Work Placed events, around 12 a term, including 2 Central gatherings, and the Work Placed course twice a year.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with leaders in each sector, across the 11 HTB services, including with the Service Work Placed Ambassadors to promote Work Placed.
- Work with HTB Events Team to plan and deliver the events, and ensuring effective and timely promotion of upcoming events.
- Capturing follow‑up actions and liaising with leaders for follow‑up steps, including gathering feedback and incorporating feedback into future development.
- Utilising Churchsuite CRM to effectively manage those people who are part of Work Placed, (currently nearly 1,500 people).
- Look for opportunities to raise the profile of Work Placed across HTB, including its social media presence, while recognising the many other activities that HTB is engaged in.
- Takes responsibility for personal growth; is also generous in sharing their time and expertise with other team members.
- Regularly asks for feedback and looks for opportunities to learn from others and continually improve their work.
- Demonstrates high levels of commitment and flexibility; is willing to lay down personal projects for the good of the team.
- Works well with Work Placed team members and wider congregation to deliver an excellent service to the whole organisation.
- Has a positive attitude, even when there is ambiguity, and works hard to contribute to creative solutions.
- Shows awareness and respect for different viewpoints, remains gracious under challenge, and always remains constructive.
- Keeps going, even when it is hard, but seeks appropriate help when necessary.
- Willing to work Sunday evenings and occasional early mornings/late evenings in the week, which is when Work Placed events are generally held.
- Excellent people and interpersonal skills, able to engage and enlist volunteers.
- 5+ years experience of working in a management role in a non‑church based setting, ideally in 2+ roles.
- Competent IT user, particularly MS Office.
- Able and a desire to contribute to discussions on events and helping shape the future of the Work Placed initiative.
- Using a CRM (as needed to use Churchsuite), though this can be learned if a competent IT user.
