Lead, Infusion RN – Chartwell
Join UPMC Chartwell as a Lead RN in the home infusion team, based in Oakdale, PA. The role includes skilled nursing care, leadership, mentorship, and collaboration with staff and referral sources.
Location:
Oakdale office; travel to hospitals; 9 am–5:30 pm with on‑call duties.

Responsibilities- Perform on‑call duties to provide 24‑hour availability.
- Communicate with supervisors, physicians, and other healthcare providers; build rapport and present ideas to management.
- Ensure professional safety during hazardous situations (cytoxic agents, blood and body fluids) and maintain licensure and certifications.
- Oversee home health agency clinical infusion competencies and ongoing education of home care staff.
- Participate in Performance Improvement, education committees, and department meetings; aid in new product selection.
- Lead change initiatives and orchestrate complex projects.
- Provide infusion, pre‑discharge patient assessments, and other skilled nursing care; document patient care promptly.
- Perform nursing supervisor duties as needed; supervise infusion nursing staff.
- Convey relevant information to management on external developments and opportunities.
- Support marketing by assisting sales with referral processes at hospitals.
- Mentor new nursing staff and provide ongoing guidance.
- Develop and present CE programs to referral sources as requested.
- Assist supervisor with supervisory visits and competence validation of nursing staff.
- Assume leadership duties in the absence of the Nursing Supervisor by scheduling hospital teach‑ins and home visits.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- BSN preferred; graduate of accredited nursing school.
- Current state RN license (PA). Multistate license accepted under the Nursing Licensure Compact.
- Minimum of 5 years specialized infusion home health experience.
- CPR certification required (AHA standards, skills demonstration within 30 days of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; may be required for travel.
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Driver’s License
- Current licensure in the state where the facility is located or in a multistate license under the Nursing Licensure Compact.
