DescriptionJob Summary
The LPN/GPN administers direct patient care to assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a GN/RN. Works collaboratively with all members of the patient interdisciplinary care team. Participates in the care and teaching of the patient. The LPN/GPN observes, evaluates, records, and contributes information to aid the RN/GN in developing the patient plan of care based on age‑specific criteria and current patient health care needs.
Job Specification
- Must be a graduate of a nursing program.
- Minimum Experience Required
- Prefer 1 year of medical surgical experience, but not required.
- Licensure/Certification Required
- A current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and certification of basic life support.
- Completed IV start class.
Skills
- A commitment to service excellence and performance improvement.
- Must possess nursing knowledge of medical, surgical, and behavioral health nursing to provide direct patient care and observe and document outcomes effectively.
- Provide patient and family education.
- Excellent writing, computer, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Critical thinking and excellent communication skills are a must.
