Pet Smart’s Professional Bather (dog bather) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon-specific services and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also shares responsibility for store cleanliness, recommending solutions for pet parents, and pet safety standards.

• Complete Pet Smart’s Splash training and safety certification program.
• Be responsible for the pet parent experience and outcomes conducted in person, over the phone and at the sales register.
• Greet pet parents, answer questions and assist with salon reservations.
• Manage check-in and check-out procedures.
• Independently perform the full menu of bath and brush services and standalone services (e.g., nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) in accordance with Pet Smart’s bathing standards.
• Share additional health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on the pet’s needs.
• Ensure a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents.
• Take immediate action when a sick/injured pet is identified; transport to the vet as needed.
• Recommends, informs, and sells merchandise and services.
• Maintain total store cleanliness standards.
• Assist in other departments as required. Other duties may be assigned.

• Follow all Company Policies and Procedures.

• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Flexibility in schedule; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Must stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write. Must be able to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required; reasonable accommodations may be made.
• Often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet environments with pet hair, and moderate to high noise. Exposure to live animals is common.
