The Animal Hospital of Dauphin County (AHDC) is seeking a full-time, motivated, compassionate Veterinary Room Technician to join our growing team. If you enjoy working closely with doctors and clients, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are excited to keep learning, we'd love to meet you!

We are an AAHA-accredited hospital offering a unique blend of general practice, urgent care, exotics, and visiting referral and specialty services. Our diverse caseload provides an exciting opportunity to expand your knowledge, develop new skills, and work alongside an experienced team of doctors and veterinary professionals.

What You'll Do

• Work side by side with our doctors: Assist during appointments, help gather patient histories, obtain vital signs, and support efficient, high-quality patient care.
• Build relationships with clients: Help clients feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their pet's care.
• Provide client education: Explain treatment plans, medications, preventive care, follow-up instructions, and other recommendations in a clear and compassionate way.
• Support patient care: Prepare exam rooms, assist with patient handling and restraint, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and help ensure appointments run smoothly.
• Be part of a diverse caseload: Gain exposure to general practice, urgent care, exotic species, and specialty or referral cases.
• Explore clinical research: Have the opportunity to participate in our clinical studies team, helping support research initiatives and expand your veterinary knowledge. Earn additional compensation!
• Collaborate with the entire team: Communicate effectively with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives to provide an outstanding experience for every patient and client.

What We're Looking For

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Someone who enjoys working closely with doctors and clients in the exam room.
• The ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• A willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow professionally.
• Previous veterinary or animal care experience is preferred.
• Veterinary technician education or certification is a plus, but a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are just as important.
