Overview
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee both quality control and receiving operations in our dairy facility. This role is hands‑on and supervisory, ensuring that product standards are consistently met while also leading a small team and coordinating with cross‑functional departments.
ResponsibilitiesLead a small team, coordinate with cross‑functional departments, and supervise both quality control and receiving operations.
- Supervise and perform inspection and testing of milk and dairy products to ensure compliance with company and regulatory quality standards.
- Maintain accurate quality control records and documentation; ensure proper escalation of deviations.
- Lead regular quality audits and monitor corrective actions as needed.
- Train and support QA Technicians and production staff on quality protocols and food safety standards.
- Partner with the Quality Assurance Manager to analyze trends and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Supervise cleaning and sanitation of containers, equipment, and work areas.
- Ensure adherence to all safety, sanitation, and regulatory protocols.
- Provide guidance, scheduling, and support for QA/Receiving staff.
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and quality departments to streamline operations and resolve issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or technical degree in food science, quality management, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a food manufacturing or dairy plant, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance, food safety standards (e.g., SQF, HACCP), and receiving procedures.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead by example, manage workloads, and motivate a team.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy containers and standing for extended periods.
- Proficient in basic computer systems and documentation practices.
