Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for quality? Join PFS TECO, a nationally recognized leader in third-party certification and inspections, as a Quality Inspector in our Manufactured Structures Division.

The Quality Inspector ensures compliance with manufacturing processes and quality standards within designated plants. This role conducts thorough inspections and quality control audits to uphold the integrity of products and processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory and PFS TECO requirements. The Quality Inspector reports directly to the Associate Director of Inspections and collaborates closely with manufacturers, plant personnel, and internal teams to maintain high-quality construction and compliance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive quality control inspections as directed by your assigned Associate Director of Inspections.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of individual plant quality assurance programs.
  • Conduct all necessary quality control audits, emphasizing adherence to compliance standards distinct from manufacturer-initiated quality control inspections.
  • Ensure all audits align with PFS TECO Certification Procedures or relevant jurisdictional regulations.
  • Assess manufacturer records and procedures to ensure alignment with job requirements outlined in accepted quality control manuals, plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Promptly report any manufacturer records and procedures deficiencies to your Associate Director of Inspections.
  • Maintain proficiency in applicable codes, standards, and manufacturing document regulations.
  • Follow detailed procedures outlined in the PFS TECO Inspection and Certification Procedures guide.
  • Oversee the inspection and calibration of test equipment, monitor tests, and inspect stored materials regularly.
  • Diligently report, document, and follow up on non-conformances with corrective actions, including inspections of other units for similar issues.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of non-conformances and plant quality control performance with plant management after each audit.
  • Adhere to plant locations and travel arrangements determined by the Director of Inspections, which may include overnight hotel stays.
Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify construction defects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple inspections efficiently and work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adhere to detailed instructions and checklists, including familiarity with construction criteria and quality management system auditing standards.
  • Proficient in conducting inspections and evaluating manufacturers' quality management systems.
  • Ability to travel to manufacturing sites for routine inspections and meetings.
  • Must be able to perform physical and visual inspection activities, including bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
  • Domestic travel is required approximately 75% of the time.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with access to reliable transportation.
