Position SummaryOur Manager‑In‑Training (MIT) program lasts approximately sixteen (16) weeks, guiding you through hands‑on and computer‑based training.
- General Training & Comprehension – perform and lead roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher.
- Leadership Development – lead small groups on varying shifts.
- Policies & Procedures – ensure food quality, inventory, safety, and customer service standards.
- Reporting – maintain records of income, expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
- Training – responsible for all training, quality control, and in‑servicing staff.
- Leadership – handle payroll, staffing, coaching, discipline, purchasing, and budgeting.
- Communication – convey directives from client managers and administrators.
- Safety – use proper protective gear and follow safety protocols.
- Punctuality – consistent attendance and timeliness.
- Customer Experience – represent HCSG well.
- Resident Experience – positive interactions with residents, staff, and guests.
- Positive attitude, follow instructions, routine tasks.
- Leadership skills after training without supervision.
- Associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality (preferred).
- Specialized training in food service management and nutrition required.
- Completion of CFP Food Protection Manager course within first 14 days.
- Certified Dietary Manager course participant or required state certification.
- eLuminate Food Service Manager and Long‑Term Care Food Service certifications within first 60 days.
- Desired:
Two years experience in food production/service and personnel supervision. - Basic computer skills for records and web‑based reporting.
- Optional sanitation and safety course completion.
- Reliability over scheduled work and arrival.
- Compliance with COVID‑19 Vaccination Policies.
- Physical ability: lift/carry 50 pounds, stand/sit, bend, walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform routine tasks continuously.
- Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
- Live in service area.
