Retail Associate (Part-Time) – Winchester, IN

Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana is hiring a part‑time Retail Associate. Pay: $11 per hour.

The Retail Associate supports store management in achieving operational goals and may perform a variety of duties, including cashier, textile or wares production, donation door, e‑commerce, e‑books, or rack and cart runner roles.

Responsibilities Cashier

• Rings up customer orders, maintains a balanced drawer, and follows all cash handling procedures and protocols.
• Provides general information about Goodwill programs to educate customers and answer questions.
• Directs higher‑level questions to the appropriate associate or manager.
• Maintains cleanliness of the sales floor.

Textiles or Wares Producer

• Sorts product to identify quality and value, checks for defects, cleans as needed, and properly tags and hangs textiles or wares.
• Produces 100 items per hour for wares/85 items per hour for textiles, adhering to Goodwill’s pricing standards.
• Uses a pallet jack occasionally and a conveyor belt regularly.

Donation Door Attendant

• Accepts donations from customers and maintains a clean donation door.
• Sorts products quickly and accurately, distributing them to appropriate areas.
• Ensures the backroom is clean, organized, and labelled.
• Loads and unloads trucks as needed and operates heavy equipment such as a pallet jack, double stacker, floor scrubber, and hydraulic lift.

eCommerce Producer

• Identifies and secures items of value for Click Goodwill.
• Stays informed of market value via eBay and other online sites, tags items, and packs them into totes.
• Packs, wraps, and ships totes to Click Goodwill to meet weekly budget targets.

e-Books Producer

• Scans received books and decides what to ship to Click Goodwill or display in store.
• Prints inventory sheets, seals, and ships totes for Click Goodwill.
• Identifies top sellers and manages a clean, organized in‑store display.

Rack and Cart Runner

• Checks racks/carts for quality and value.
• Sizes, merchandises, and purges the sales floor.
• Maintains a clean sales floor, puts away carts, and stocks shelves.
• Runs one textile rack/wares cart every 15 minutes and updates production tracking sheets.

Required Competencies

• No degree or credential required; demonstrate capability and relate prior experience.

Other Requirements

• Physical: extend work beyond 8 hours in varied postures; lift 10–50 pounds.
• Exposure to moderate noise and temperature variations.
