About the Role

ABB Motion High Power is hiring a Regional Sales Manager – Drives for the United States. The manager will grow ABB’s market share for Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Packaged Variable Frequency Drives by developing and managing channel and direct sales relationships in the region.

Reporting to

Head of Channel Sales.

Your role and responsibilities
  • Ensure the region’s pipeline equals minimum 5× budget in qualified opportunities.
  • Drive regional sales performance through biweekly sales meetings, order reviews, and clear forecasting.
  • Strengthen team capability by co‑leading planning initiatives with other RSMs, coordinating training, and mentoring across the region.
  • Execute target‑driven sales by deploying a structured process, managing CRM, forecasting monthly performance, and identifying must‑win opportunities.
  • Lead high‑impact commercial engagement by collaborating with engineering, representing ABB at events, and consistently selling value‑based solutions.
  • Continuously assess market trends, customers, and competition to identify and realize opportunities; report market insights to the Product Group and Local Business Unit.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships at all levels with key customers and stakeholders, ensuring effective marketing communications of ABB’s value proposition.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; or associate’s degree with 12+ years of experience; or high school diploma with 14+ years.
  • Solid understanding of ABB Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Packaged Drives or comparable products.
  • Highly skilled at developing relationships from factory level to C‑level.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the High Power Motors and Drives U.S. market, customers, and competition.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM and other sales tools.
  • Previous leadership experience coaching and mentoring sales teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and 50–75% domestic travel required.
  • Work authorization to work in the U.S. required.
