The Counter Sales Associate drives sales and customer satisfaction by assisting walk-in and telephone customers with product selection and order fulfillment. This role leverages technical knowledge to solve customer needs and build lasting relationships.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Order Fulfillment & Inventory- Pull, fill, pack, and set up orders for delivery or pickup; track order status at all times
- Receive shipments, log into inventory, conduct audits, and process returns accurately
- Assist counter and phone customers with orders, product info, pricing, and availability
- Greet all customers professionally; resolve issues promptly or elevate as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized counter and product display area
- Upsell complementary products and convert requests to stocked brands where appropriate
- Maintain deep product and industry knowledge; follow company pricing and credit guidelines
- Assess customer needs to determine appropriate service level or escalation path
- Build customer relationships; adapt approach to different customer types and needs
- Collaborate with team, share best practices, and support a positive work environment
- Follow all company procedures, policies, and Employee Handbook requirements
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Product, applications, or wholesale distribution experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for up to 8 hours daily
- Able to stoop, bend, and reach inventory; work in indoor and outdoor environments
