Public Safety Officer - Rosemont College
Full‑time, 12‑month staff, 40 hours per week, FSLA Classification:
Non‑Exempt. Reports to Co‑Directors of Public Safety, the Public Safety Captain and the Public Safety Sergeant.

- Maintain a safe and secure environment within the College's buildings and grounds.
- Assist in developing and recommending policies, plans, programs, and procedures designed to enhance security within the college community.
- Check and read daily the Public Safety Bulletin and remain aware of any special events or circumstances occurring within the area.
- Secure all buildings and windows.
- Admit authorized personnel only into buildings after they have been secured.
- Work special details as required.
- Assist and direct students, staff, and visitors; furnish information and instructions in an accurate, courteous manner.
- Provide assistance to individuals who are sick or injured.
- Prepare oral and written reports documenting all incidents and security breaches encountered.
- Accurately complete all departmental forms and reports.
- force policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred; higher education experience preferred.
- 1–3 years of related experience.
- Act 120 or 235 certification desirable.
- First Aid, CPR and AED certification desirable.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to multi‑task and maintain a pleasant and professional manner.
- Must display a good representation of the College.
- Knowledge of security and law enforcement principles and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a college environment.
- Two‑way radio and computer knowledge helpful.
- Creative problem‑solving, excellent customer service, strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment, work independently and on a team, meet strict deadlines and work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Strong computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (especially Word and Excel) and internet research.
