Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic will oversee the performance and maintenance of large production machinery and perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. Will also be responsible for small to mid-sized projects related to safety and environmental management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
-Scheduling and performing routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal performance. - Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Installing, modifying, and relocating machinery and equipment.
- Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
- Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
- Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
- Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
- Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
- Prepares reports documenting work performed.
- Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including repairs, maintenance, and inventory. - Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Adhering to safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Under the direction of the EH&S Specialist, will manage small to mid-sized projects such as safety policy implementation or waist/scrap measurement, recording, reporting, and disposal.
- Will actively participate in the facility's Safety Committee.
- Plans repair work using the building's blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
