As a Welder, you will perform routine and specialized welding repair and fabrication assignments on equipment within the Wyoming County Maintenance District. Work includes welding, brazing, soldering, cutting, tempering, and shaping ferrous and non-ferrous metals for maintenance, repair, or construction of highways and bridges. Duties also involve laying out equipment and materials and determining work processes to fabricate parts and equipment, as well as cutting, shaping, welding, and repairing metal structures or parts for a wide range of applications.
Welding assignments may be conducted on a versatile range of equipment such as truck and automobile bodies, engine parts, trailer parts, and winter service fleets such as plow frames, blades, and spreaders. Within this role, it is essential to ensure the work area is properly maintained in clean, safe condition and all safety procedures and protective equipment are being utilized.
Schedule and Additional Information
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch

- Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or
- A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
- You must be able to perform essential job functions
