Mid-State Roofing & Coating is a premier construction company that performs high-quality specialty roofing for commercial, government, industrial, institutional, and historic roofs.

What you'll do as a Commercial Roofing Foreman:
  • Oversee daily job site operations, ensuring roofing projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Train, mentor, & assign tasks to crew members while jumping in to correct issues and mentor your team.
  • Improve efficiency by organizing workflows, reducing downtime, and ensuring the crew has the right tools and materials.
  • Anticipate project needs, monitor progress, and proactively adjust timelines to maximize efficiency.
  • Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety briefings, and recognize team members for safe work practices.
  • Communicate project goals, expectations, and changes to the crew, fostering collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Monitor job progress and report delays or material needs to the project manager.
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for deliveries and address client questions as needed.
  • Work full-time from March to December, Monday through Friday, with 8 to 10-hour days. Overtime is available but not required.
Our Ideal Commercial Roofing Foreman:
  • Experienced: 2-4 years of commercial/flat roofing experience is preferred; previous foreman experience is a plus, but we are willing to train an experienced roofer interested in moving into a leadership role. Knowledge of roofing systems, local ordinances, and safety regulations is a plus.
  • Strong Leader: Decisive, adaptable, and able to guide and inspire a team toward success.
  • Problem-solver: Inspects and identifies issues, investigates root causes, and makes quick, effective decisions to keep projects on track.
  • Hardworking & Positive: Brings a strong work ethic and a can‑do attitude to every job.
  • Collaborative: Works closely with the project manager and crew to align performance with project goals.
  • Committed to Improvement: Encourages efficiency and looks for ways to optimize processes.
  • Tech‑savvy: Comfortable using basic computer skills for tracking hours and reporting job progress.
  • Active: Can work outdoors in various weather conditions, at multi‑story heights, and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. Able to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
