Mechanic Supervisor

As a Mechanic Supervisor for the Department of Transportation, you help keep vital machinery safe, reliable, and ready for action. This position oversees the repair and maintenance of a wide range of equipment used by the Department of Transportation. The role includes leadership, problem solving, and coordination of daily shop activities. As a Mechanic Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

• Direct Equipment Repairs: Guide mechanics in troubleshooting, as well as repairing gasoline and diesel-powered equipment
• Oversee Inspections: Monitor state vehicle inspections and verify quality assurance results
• Manage Work Processes: Review work orders, parts usage, and time charges for accuracy
• Support Problem Diagnosis: Assist staff in identifying complex equipment issues using diagnostic tools
• Ensure Shop Safety: Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean repair facility
• Lead Personnel

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,149.00 (before taxes).

• Four years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment;
  or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

• This position requires possession of a valid Class A or B Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the Air Brake restriction (L), supplemented by tank endorsement (N).
• This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class 4 or Class 7 Inspection Mechanic Certification.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
