Mechanic Heavy Equipment

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support field service and shop work for our construction equipment fleet, including excavators, dozers, rollers, skid steers, trucks, and trailers. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role performs maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and safety oversight at local job sites and in the shop while coordinating effectively with office personnel. Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, rollers, and skid steers.
• Maintain and repair trucks and trailers, including tri-axle dump trucks, semi-tractors, pickups, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service diesel, hydraulic, mechanical, electronic, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair equipment issues in the field and shop.
• Provide service at local job sites as needed.
• Report expenditure items to the Office Manager.
• Promote safe use of tools, equipment, and supplies, and stop work being performed in an unsafe manner.
• Coordinate shop tasks effectively with administrative and office personnel.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with diesel engine repair.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Experience diagnosing heavy equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
