Social Worker | Irwin, Pennsylvania

Make a real impact in the lives of students by providing essential support in a dynamic school environment. Two full-time, onsite social worker opportunities are available on a contract basis: one supporting emotional support and partial hospitalization programs at a campus near McMurray, and another serving as a long-term substitute at a district in the Coal Center area from October 2026 through late January 2027 (specific dates to be determined).

Key qualifications and requirements:

• Masters degree in Social Work or a related field
• Active PA State Social Work license
• PDE Educational Specialist certification (or eligibility for emergency certificate if not currently held)
• Experience working in school settings or with school-age populations preferred
• Strong communication and crisis intervention skills
• Flexibility to work onsite at assigned campus locations
• Willingness to review and map out commute to designated school site before assignment

Primary responsibilities:

• Deliver counseling, social work, and support services to students
• Collaborate with educators, families, and administrators to address student needs
• Develop and implement interventions for individuals and groups in emotional support and/or hospitalization programs
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP/504 processes as needed
• Advocate for student welfare and connect families to relevant resources
