Software Engineer - Rust - Onchain at Kraken

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement robust Rust services.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Product, Smart Contract, Dev Ops, Frontend Engineering) to ensure seamless integration of new features.
  • Write reusable, testable, and highly efficient code.
  • Produce technical specifications and own feature development through deployment.
  • Collaborate on large‑scale distributed systems architecture.
  • Integrate third‑party APIs and multiple blockchain networks into our products.
  • Leverage on‑chain data to create innovative product improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 5+ years of full‑time engineering experience in a large technology organization or fast‑growing startup.
  • 3+ years of Rust development experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with blockchain technology and DeFi solutions.
  • Security‑first mindset during system design.
  • Strong debugging skills across OS, network, and application stack.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, RPC protocols, Kafka, and event‑driven architectures.
  • Experience working with Graph

    QL, SQL, RESTful APIs, and Web Sockets.
  • Deep knowledge of at least one blockchain ecosystem such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Solana.
  • Pragmatic, solution‑oriented, and resilient under rapidly evolving technological environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging in constructive dialogue on complex subjects.
