Backend Software Engineer (f/m/d) – Java, Microservices, Cloud

GLS IT Services GmbH is looking for a Backend Software Engineer (f/m/d) to join our teams in Eschborn (Frankfurt), Neuenstein (Eastern Hesse) and Portugal (Lisbon). You will develop, enhance, and operate the core business systems that deliver more than 1 million parcels in Germany daily.

• Develop and maintain backend services in Java 17+ using Spring/Spring Boot.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate message streaming with Kafka, Rabbit
  
  MQ, or SQS.
• Work with relational databases (SQL, Postgre
  
  SQL) and modern CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
• Participate in Dev Ops practices, from design to operation.
• Collaborate with product specialists and customers to deliver tangible digital products.

• University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or a related field.
• Strong team player who shares knowledge and seeks optimal solutions for the team, product and company.
• At least one year of professional software‑development experience, preferably in logistics.
• Expertise in Java 17+ and relevant frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot); REST‑based API design.
• Experience with message streaming frameworks such as Kafka, Rabbit
  
  MQ, SQS.
• Good knowledge of relational databases, especially SQL and Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Familiar with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible) and cloud services (AWS EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
• Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes.
• Agile development experience.
• Proficient in English.
