Starting Pay Rate: $19.00

All interested applicants for the Driver position, including those with a commercial driver’s license, begin as a Driver in Training. We invest significant resources in training and development.

A Driver in Training will be trained to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and related endorsements, as well as learn our Company policies and procedures. Upon successful completion of the training program, the Driver in Training will be promoted to a Professional Driver role.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provides safe and reliable transportation service by operating a school bus or other specific vehicle.
• Exhibits ethical best practices and personal integrity, reporting any concerns to supervisors.
• Maintains punctuality and safety while on duty.
• Physically assists passengers in case of emergency evacuation.
• Reports any accidents or incidents per Company policy.
• Follows Company Policy around student management.
• Informs appropriate personnel of issues and procedures.
• Presents a neat and professional appearance at all times.
• Completes required paperwork and submits it timely.
• Maintains a cooperative attitude with colleagues and customers.
• Safely utilizes vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts and emergency equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Additional responsibilities for Paratransit Drivers may apply.

Requirements Include:

• Must be at least 21 years of age; 25 years for Tennessee School Bus Drivers.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, all required state licenses and certifications.
• Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening.
• Must satisfactorily complete all training.
• Must practice defensive driving and safe work habits.
• Compliance with all applicable driver requirements.
