Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an ambitious Accounts & Audit Senior to join a respected independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Penrith.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA / ACCA part-qualified or qualified accountant looking for a varied role within a supportive accountancy practice. The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and charitable organisations, gaining exposure to both accounts and audit assignments.

As an Accounts & Audit Senior, you will be responsible for a varied portfolio of client work, including:

• Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Completing corporation tax computations and supporting with tax compliance.
• Assisting with audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact.
• Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing support where required.
• Working closely with Managers and Partners to deliver a high-quality client service.

The role is approximately 80% accounts and 20% audit, although this can vary depending on experience and client requirements.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified status (study support available).
• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and UK accounting standards.
• Some audit experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage workloads and work independently.
