Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a fantastic opportunity for a Digital Engineering Technician to join our team on the Highways A66 NTP Scheme, this role will be based at Penrith, Cumbria

What you'll be doingTo support the Digital Engineering Manager in delivering project requirements, producing and maintaining accurate project information, and ensuring compliance with project Digital Engineering standards and procedures. Responsible for creating, updating and maintaining accurate project information within the Common Data Environment (CDE). Responsible for creating, updating and maintaining Project Information Models where required.
- Produce and maintain 3D models and associated digital outputs following project standards.
- Provide support for model coordination, clash detection and design reviews.
- Assist in the implementation of the Project Digital Engineering / Digital Execution Plan (BEP/DEP).
- Contribute to the setup, use and maintenance of the CDE.
- Support project teams and supply chain partners in the use of Digital Engineering tools and workflows.
- Carry out basic model and data validation and quality checks.
- Assist in the preparation of 3D model visualisations, reports and digital deliverables.
- Provide inputs to training and briefing materials for internal stakeholders.
- Support the management and maintenance of project information throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with the implementation of project information requirements and Digital Engineering standards.
- Undertake training and continuous professional development within the Digital Engineering function
- Works effectively as part of a team.
- Appreciation of ISO 19650 principles and information management requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately and follow established processes and procedures.
- Working knowledge or experience of Digital Engineering tools and workflows, CDE environments, survey and data collection methods, coordination processes (3D/IDC/IDR), Project Information Model development, common coding, Progressive Assurance and BIM Framework standards.
- Awareness of 4D planning and model integration and 5D quantity extraction and cost integration.
- Able to work independently on routine tasks and seek guidance where required.
