Position: Project Manager – Free Home Energy Support

Overview

We’re currently recruiting for a Project Manager to lead our county-wide Free Home Energy Support Service, helping households save energy, reduce costs and create warmer, greener homes. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the delivery of a high-impact programme supporting around 1,500 households across Cumbria, ensuring targets, budgets and funding requirements are met while leading and supporting a dedicated team. Working closely with funders, partners and colleagues, you’ll drive performance, manage risks, monitor outcomes and use data to continually improve the service.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of the Free Home Energy Support Service to approximately 1,500 households across Cumbria, ensuring targets, budgets and funding requirements are met.
  • Oversee programme delivery, drive performance, manage risks and monitor outcomes.
  • Lead and support a dedicated team, working closely with funders, partners and colleagues to continually improve the service through data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate to promote energy savings, cost reductions and warmer, greener homes within the community.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager with excellent organisational skills, a collaborative approach and a track record of delivering projects successfully. You’ll be comfortable leading and supporting staff, managing competing demands and communicating clearly with a wide range of stakeholders.   • Location: The role is contractually based at our Penrith office; however, we actively support flexible working patterns, including a blended approach to home, site, and office-based working
  • Hours: 30 hours per week
  • Duration: End of March 2027, with potential for extension subject to funding
  • Salary range: £30,728 – £38,728. Starting salary to be agreed depending on knowledge and experience
