Rookhow is a historic building and 12 acres of woodland located in Rusland, Ulverston. We invite practical volunteers every Friday to help maintain our grounds and buildings for guests, including vulnerable groups. Tasks include gardening, woodland work and DIY projects. Outdoor duties may involve splitting logs, chopping kindling, wheelbarrowing logs, cleaning the yurt in the woods, weeding the car park, planting hedges, path restoration, clearing drains and gutters, mowing the grass, and hedge strimming.

Indoor tasks may include polishing woodwork, cleaning windows, repairing bunk beds, painting, fixing things, putting up shelves, deep cleaning, sorting books and games in the Bunkbarn, and preparing tea and coffee for other volunteers.
